''Now what’s left for us is to win at home the World Cup'', said Robinho

  • LA PLATA, July 17, 2011 (AFP) - Brazilian striker Robinho said the team must now focus on winning the 2014 World Cup, played in Brazil, after the elimination of the Copa America, on Sunday, by (2)0-0(0) against Paraguay, in the definition by penalty kicks.
"Now what we can do is raise your head and win the World Cup in our country", said the AC Milan player at the end of the match played at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata.
Robinho, however, felt that his team "did a good Copa America," in which Brazil had two draws - Venezuela (0-0) and Paraguay (2-2) - and a 4-2 victory over Ecuador.
Despite the victory, the goalie Villar, from Paraguay, admitted that Brazil "has dominated for almost the entire match." "We had to stay behind and run a lot," he said. "In the shoot-out we were better, but it is a lottery," he said.
The triumph against the two-time champion Brazil puts Paraguay in the semifinals of the continental tournament for the first time since the competition was played in its new format, with twelve teams, since Ecuador-1993.
