- MENDOZA, July 13, 2011 (AFP) - The members of the Chilean team agreed, on Wednesday, to emphasize that the 'Roja' won the respect of the continent, after obtaining the undefeated and top of Group C classification for quarterfinals of the Copa America.
"We've earned the respect of all of South America and the difficult is to keep it, but hopefully in the games we will live up defining" circumstances, said the defender Gonzalo Jara.
Jara, 25, also justified in a press conference the parity of forces in the tournament, as favorites Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, have had difficulties in the group stage.
"I have heard criticism of players of Brazil or Argentina", but they forget that "there is a Venezuela, Peru or Bolivia that the big teams used to win by three or four goals. In these knockout matches will be even harder", he said.
Meanwhile, the goalkeeper Miguel Pinto, whose coach Claudio Borghi entrusted the ownership in the closure of the group against Peru, praised the 'Roja' has a "domestic and spectacular relationship” which contributes to the achievement of the objectives.
"We have great faith, believe in ourselves and we believe we can do something good and keep going in the Copa America", ended the Atlas’ (MEX) player.
