Uruguay seeks an unprecedented victory against Mexico to get a spot at the next stage

  • Uruguay and Mexico plays today for the fifth time in the history of Copa América. Needing victory to classify the next stage, the Uruguayans need to do something unprecedented in the history of the competition: win the Mexicans.
    In four previous games, the Mexicans won two and there were two draws. The last game was in 2007, in the third place decision match of the last edition, with a Mexican victory by 3 x 1. In that game, the record player Blanco scored one of the goals of the Mexicans. For Uruguayans, Loco Abreu, who is also at the 2011 team, scored. Also played in that match, players like Lugano, Scotti, Maxi Pereira, Cristian Rodriguez and Forlán (photo) for the Uruguayans, Bravo, Nery Castillo, Torrado and Ochoa for the Mexicans.
