- SANTA FE, July 10, 2011 (AFP) - Chile, Peru and Venezuela were able to reach the quarterfinals this Sunday without playing in the Copa America, thanks to Colombia's 2-0 win over Bolivia, in Santa Fe (center), in a match that opened the third and final day of Group A.
With four points each in their respective groups, in Group B Venezuelans, and Chileans and Peruvians in C, these three selected secured their place in the quarter-finals as the two best third, in the worst cases, after the dispute of the third round of their groups, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The third in Group A, which will be defined on Monday between Argentina and Costa Rica, will end with a maximum of three points, and depends on the definition of the other groups to find their future in the Copa America.
Argentina reaches the shock to be played at the stadium of Cordoda, Mario Alberto Kempes (center), with two points, while Costa Rica has three units and requires only a draw to clinch the second place in Group A, behind Colombia, seven points.
Bolivia, meanwhile, with a single point conquered over Argentina in the debut, became the first eliminated team of the 2011 Copa America.
